Anne Currie is a landscape artist who has been painting in oils for over 15 years. Much of her work focuses on the landscapes of Scotland and Northern France. Her paintings have been included in public exhibitions across England, Scotland and the USA, and are in many private collections.
Anne aims to create an image that becomes a doorway into a scene, a world the viewer can enter and become a part of. She strives to evoke texture, and wants the viewer to feel the water or the grass under their hands.
Her style has been described as naive because of the richness of colour and the freedom and playfulness of her compositions. There is a simplicity, innocence and honesty about her paintings.
Anne's work features in The Association of British Naïve Artists, a book by Daphne Stephenson and Judy Joel about the association, of which she is a member.
Anne's painting London 2112 featured on the cover of Resurgence & Ecologist 280.
