In the last issue of Resurgence & Ecologist I wrote, “In the field of friendship I sow the seeds of love,” because love liberates me from fear. When there is love, fear disappears like darkness at dawn. I am an environmentalist, not because I have fear of doom and gloom, or fear the end of civilisation. My environmentalism is driven by love. I love the wild forests, the colour of flowers, the smell of fruit, the sound of the wind. When we love something we protect it, we take care of it and we look after it. As we love children, so we want to protect them from harm.
