In the July/August issue you published ‘A New Vision for the Somerset Levels’, a piece presumably submitted by Natural England.

Having lived near the Levels for over 50 years and watched with increasing concern and dismay for more than 20 years the lack of proper maintenance for this unique flow of water to the sea, I am at a loss with the statement “previously unsustainable farm practices”. But these farming practices have been in place for several hundred years and have survived many floods.
